Battle Moon Wars Official Patch Funtimes

Just as an FYI. Werk released a new patch for BMW Act 3 yesterday. Supposedly, all it fixes is the memory leak issue and some of the BGM/SE corruption issues, but I’m going over all their files with a fine-tooth comb to make sure nothing else is out of place. I’m really really trying hard to completely finish off Act 2 by the weekend, and god willing, I’ll be able to incorporate all the updates. I’m still going to need to remake a ‘master’ patch, but if you’ve already patched, then at least at first glance, you’ll likely just need a replacement exe. I’ll keep you informed though.

Magical Battle Arena Roster Roundup

Fly-Sysems posted a game shot of Fate (above) a week or two ago, but it really doesn’t look too impressive. They also finally formally confirmed the remaining three magical girls, Kukuri from the kid’s RPG spoof Mahoujin Guru Guru (actually revealed April 2nd), and Kirara/Sarara from the hentai game Magical Girl Kirara and Sarara. I’m not going to link it here, but I’m sure searching it (魔法少女きららとさらら) can point you in the ‘right’ direction. No more blank silhouettes on the MBA page. Now all that’s left is seeing them (and super panty flasher Sakura) in action.

IE, people will start taking preorders for Scarlet Weather Rhapsody on May 1st. That, along with Tasofro’s mysterious ad and confirmed participation in Reitaisai (Touhou convention) seems to make that (May 25th) the release date… though it could just be a new demo and full showing with a summer Comiket release. In any case… Glee! Now all the photoshopping and rumors of the full roster can commence!

Battle Moon Wars Patch Quick Update/Minor Fix

Hee hee… looks like I accidently forgot to remove one of my test variables, and Takumi v2 gets set to 25 Move instead of his usual 5. I’ll replace the patch with one that doesn’t do that tonight (takes my computer about an hour to churn through and generate a new patch — Edit: Finished). Or if you ran the patch before, just replace the data1 with this one. Apologies. I knew I’d end up getting something wrong. *sigh*
Also, I went ahead and inserted the (unfinished and relatively unedited) scripts for stages 7-13, so if you want to go through those, just replace your data5 with this one.
Yep, that’s all future ‘patches’ will be. The big one is just needed for all the image crapola.

Apparently Tasofro is going to be revealing a character a day between now and Reitaisai. I don’t think Youmu even drew her second sword in IaMP, though don’t quote me on that. I probably won’t note any of the other confirmations unless it’s something crazy, like Reisen. Just check their blog/site if you want updates.

Iosys Promo — Border of Extacy

Yes, that is how they decided to spell it. Honestly, this one kind of makes my ears and brain hurt quite a bit. If it wasn’t obvious, it’s a remix of primarily Yuyuko’s second PCB theme, Border of Life mixed with Yukari’s Necrofantasia. They’ll probably spit out another one or two before Reitaisai… hopefully they’ll be a bit better.

Scarlet Weather Rhapsody Various Story Mode Demos

Revel as I fumble through my virgin play of SWR. Yes, I sucked. Badly. Sakuya plays so very very differently now. I miss her dash flip kick soooooo much. *sigh* Having no clue what you’re doing makes it all the more fun. Also, I’m told that I was supposed to be teleporting to avoid LIGHTNING SHIELD OF DOOM spellcard. Oh well. Next time, gadget, next time! Reimu vs Tenshi after the cut. Marisa vs Reisen incoming in 30 minutes or so. Only Reimu, Sakuya and Marisa are playable for Story at the start. Sorry, you’ll just have to wait to see the others.

Rosenkreuz Stilette -Freudenstachel-

Just a quick little doujin game news note to point out that erka:es has announced the sequel to the rather fun Megaman clone Rosenkreuz Stilette starring one of the bosses of the first game. There’s not much to see except for some art of the new characters, but I have high hopes. Especially since it means we won’t have to play through Freudia’s stage ever again. Compared to all the rest, that one (and just fighting her) was a nightmare compared to all the rest.

Given how much of a knockoff of Nanoha she looks like, only with darkness based and wide area attacks, I have to wonder why they didn’t just use Hayate. Nice to see the roster still expanding though. Ha HA! Deception in advertising! I’m at a loss for words regardless.. Apparently it’s an original character named Ruru (get it, dorirururu… I think that just sprained my brain.) Why they didn’t just punt on it and use D4 Princess is beyond me, but allllllllllrighty. Maybe they realized how ridculously bad the show was, but then again, they’ve already got Kukuri in there, what’s a girl wearing a drill for a hat in comparison to that? More caps after the cut. TWilight refrAIN Dated; New Demo

The sequel to TWilight INSanity, which I thought was an absolutely superb recent curtain fire game, was announced that it’ll be available at Summer Comiket in August. They put up a demo about a month ago, but I don’t think I ever mentioned it. At any rate, they updated the demo, so go pick it up. Just like TWINS, it’s got some great tunes (I especially love the western theme, but I save at -5 vs castanets) and I love how the storm develops in Aldofine’s stage.

Magical Battle Arena — Naga’s Big Debut

I have to admit, Sakura’s supers look a bit silly, and Kukuri doesn’t look like she belongs at all, but Kirara and Sarara both look significantly better than I was expecting. They certainly don’t look out of place spamming giant beams at any rate.
And of course Naga and her giant golem. While I don’t like Naga all that much, I’m glad she’s in, and I’m glad that she has a giant golem as a super. It’s just right.

Scarlet Weather Rhapsody Patch V1.02

A veritible mountain of balance fixes. I’d bother to list them all, but after listing a couple, Tasofro just makes a note "Other fixes were also done." Assume that your favorite character has been greatly changed. A lot of the more obvious and critical bug fixes have been dealt with too, like Tenshi’s space-background glitch and Sakuya’s instant win. Still, I can only imagine there will be another patch soon since the wrong-blocking knockback is still totally… well… wrong.

Vanguard Princess Patch Dated

Since I’m sure it’s of interest to at least a few people and Sundays are a vast void of absolute nothingness going on in Japan, the update adding all the cut-ins, amongst the usual chaos that comes with any fighting patch will be out on the 14th… which will probably be the 13th in Western time. …Yeah, Sundays are slow. I do wish there were more of the Saki/Kaede style cut-ins instead of the formulaic ass/crotch flashes, but beggars can’t be choosers. Also FYI, coverage is going to be delayed on Monday for personal… sheltie… related business and vet appointments that got moved at the last minute.

C79: World of TWAIN and QUALIA3 PVs

AQLoop announced their RPG based on the characters of their SHMUP TWilight refrAIN a long time ago, but finally put out a PV showing off its engine… which is apparently some kind of neo-DS box destroying pseudo-base defense thing apparently. Your guess is as good as mine. They’re putting out a trial in a couple days, so I guess we’ll find out then. Shindenken will also be putting out QUALIA 3 (aka QLIONE on the PSN in the states) which looks… pretty much the same as the last two. Exciting!
